In the field of internet marketing, one type of marketing method is to do niche product creation and market to a focus group of people on the internet. Focusing on a certain niche is good because the people in the targeted group are more likely to purchase the products targeted at them. On the seller end, it is also good to focus on a niche as one can create a product that he or she has a lot of knowledge on, hence the product is more suited to the targeted niche. Let us look at what we should do first before starting out on creating a niche product.

Before you do a niche product creation, first evaluate other competing sites in your niche. Are your competitors in the niche selling products? If so, what are they selling? Is it physical products, software, audios, videos, or ebooks? Is this their main source of revenue, or are they also selling adspace? Is there some way in which you can determine how much they are actually selling? By doing a thorough evaluation, you will have a better understanding of the demands in the focused niche, and a brief idea of what product to create for the niche market.

Next, you need to make sure that product is in a niche with a 'buying demographic.' In many cases, certain demographics, such as teenagers and young children, simply aren't going to whip out a credit card and make a purchase. You will want to do a niche product creation specifically for buyers, not browsers. Targeting the wrong group of people or niche will lead to poor sales, so remember to do your research properly from the beginning.

You can use Overture's Inventory tool to help you determine how many people are actually searching for keywords in your niche in each given month. If you multiply that number by 8, you will get the rough amount of Google traffic for that same keyword. If you don't already have an established site in that niche, you will definitely want to avoid it if the search numbers are too low.

After preparing all the groundwork and research, it is time to take action and do your niche product creation. Let us look at 2 ways to kick start the first step.

One good way is to use your list to create a niche product for you. For instance, you could create a contest that offers $100 to the person who can write the most interesting story about something related to your niche. You can then compile all of these stories and sell the book to your list. Of course, you will want to announce and congratulate the winner on your site.

Another way to do your niche product creation is to start a 'product pitch' contest. This will work best if you are already an established seller in your given niche. Go to a forum and post that you are accepting niche product pitches for your next product and that you will give an award to the person who comes up with the best idea, which you will use for your next product.

Marketing to niches is the best way to open up lots of untapped market. By targeting different niches, you are creating many income streams for yourself. So focus on niche product creation and make good money on the internet now.
